The Orange Line Train in Lahore started in October 2020 and is the first big train system in the city. Distinguished by its driverless technology, it stands out as the first substantial train network in Lahore. The Punjab Mass Transit Authority runs it, and it shows how Pakistan and China worked together to make it happen. The train covers 27.1 km, with part of it going underground for 1.72 km. The goal is to help with traffic and make the air in the city better.

The Orange Line Train is cool because it has things like air-conditioned trains and stations, escalators, and lifts, which make traveling comfortable and efficient. They think it will carry about 250,000 passengers every day. The routes connect key areas, from Ali Town to Dera Gujran, providing a well-connected and air-conditioned environment for easy travel.

Passengers can access the Orange Train through specific stations strategically placed throughout the city. These stations include Ali Town, Thokar Niaz Baig, Canal View, Hanjarwal, Wahdat Road, Awan Town, Sabzazar, Shahnoor, Salahuddin Road, Bund Road, Samanabad, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Chauburji, Lake Road, GPO, Lakshmi Chowk, Railway Station, UET, Baghbanpura, Shalamar Garden, Pakistan Mint, Mahmood Booti, Salamatpura, Islam Park, and Dera Gujran.

The Orange Train operates for 16 hours, starting at 7:30 AM and concluding at 11:00 PM. With trains arriving every two minutes at each station, the high frequency minimizes wait times, contributing to an efficient and seamless commuting experience. During peak hours, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the system intensifies its schedule to address the increased demand, showcasing its adaptability.

The schedule is designed for early travelers, with the first train departing from Dera Gujran at 7:30 AM. Simultaneously, the last train departs from Ali Town at 10:00 PM, ensuring accessibility even during the later part of the evening. Priced at an affordable PKR 40, tickets can be obtained at station ticket counters. While the standard fare remains accessible to all, discounts are available for students, working women, and senior citizens. Additionally, there is a possibility of free rides for seniors in the future.
